Kapa Haka

I have been learning Kapa Haka with my teachers Mrs.Clarke, Dwayne and Matua Ken. Today we are going to the Cultural festival in Kaikohe. Lots of schools are coming to the Cultural festival. We are singing Toia mai, Te Pou, Taiamai E, Rerenga wairua, Ka kata nga puriri o Taiamai, Nga puawai o Ngapuhi. We are performing on stage. I feel nervous.

Reading

Coding

Today we did coding with Tania. We had to get our pirate through the maze using code. I made my own one too.  Here is my slideshow.

Telling the time

This week we were learning about how to read time, we made a google draw about it.

Christmas Tree

Yesterday we made a poem about the Christmas tree. We drew a Christmas tree and wrote some words to make a poem.

Vaseline saucer

The day before pet day we made Vaseline saucers. Some people brang flowers from home. I like my vaseline saucer because it is symmetrical.

Basic Facts test Term 3

Here is my basic facts test for Term 3. I got a 35/60 for Stage 4 and 30/30 for Stage 2/3. I am good at tens the add to 100. I need to work on groupings with 10.

Firstly we dyed the paper blue. Next we did our clouds, then the we got a brown piece of paper for the trunk and finger painted. Next got a green painted piece of paper and ripped it all up. After we painted the ground layer

Sydney-rose's Goals Term 3

Each week at garden to table we are either in kitchen cooking or in gardening planting, watering or weeding. I like to do cooking.

We have been working on answering basic facts questions quickly and instantly.

I am at Stage 4.

I am good at forming my letters.

I need to get better at making my letters the same height.

ASB getwise

On Wednesday we had Marlon from ASB Get wise talking to us about saving our money, spending money on needs not wants and using invisible money ie eftpos. I have made a google draw to show what I have learnt. I liked learning about invisible money .

Hot air balloon writing

This week we have used a picture as motivation for our writing. We had a story starter and then we had to carry on the story. What I like about my writing is my punctuation. I need to improve on writing faster.
We also made a google draw showing the things that we would take with us in our hot air balloon.

It would be amazing if I could be on a hot air balloon. It would be so cool if I went across the world. It would be amazing. My hot air balloon is rainbow. The sun is shining beautiful and bright. I would bring food and water. The  hot air balloon was fast. I liked the view of the sunset I loved it so much it was beautiful. I can see lots of animals down on the ground.

Animal Town

This week we have used another picture as motivation for our writing.

Here is my writing about Animal Town.

I’m a koala I like hanging on the tree I go upside down. I like staying on my tree. We live in Animal Town. I sat and watched the animals. The lion sat on top of the van, the bear sat in the van, the giraffe stuck his head out of the van, he looked at the blue and white sky. He likes mostly likes looking at the sunset, red, yellow and orange . The lazy zebra crossed the road, after he crossed the road he sat in the warm sun and he lazily fell to sleep. The meerkats were thinking, what are those other animals doing?

Golf

We have been learning golf.

I liked Golf because I got Mr golf to do 10 press ups by hitting the target.

I am good at aiming.

I need to work on longer hits.

Mother's day

Anzac Day writing

We have been learning about ANZAC day in writing and reading this week. We had to write poems and letters to show our learning. Here is my work.

 We have been learning to form our letters correctly and to use capital letters in the correct place.I am good at writing .I need to get better at siting letters on the line.

Self portrait art

We have been working on using different art techniques to draw our faces. We have used sketching pencils to sketch our faces, making sure we made our facial features an accurate shape, size and putting them in the correct places.

We learnt about Picasso’s style and made our own funky Picasso portraits.

Garden to Table

I like garden to table because we get to cook yummy food and pull delicious vegetables out of the ground, it's so yum.

Swimming

We have been working towards becoming a confident swimmer by learning how to be a safe swimmer. We learnt that we should always swim with an adult and to always wear a life jacket when we are on a boat. At our swimming lessons we have learnt how to float, kick, glide and use rainbow arms and we are still learning to breathe correctly.
